It's definitely not my style, but I couldn't figure out what was going on with it so I looked it up.
It has 2 movements in it. One is a mechanical that only drives the second hand. The other is a Miyota quartz that drives the minute and hour hands. I guess having a smooth sweep seconds was super important to someone. It's weird...
