I read about this watch. Compelling value for the price.

I read about this watch. Compelling value for the price. I'm not sure. In a lot of ways it seems to be a proof of concept they put into production. It's an interesting watch because of what they've been able to do with the technology, but they are still quite expensive for a plastic watch fully assembled by robotics. I don't think there's anything on the market like it though.

I snapped it up on Monday. When they were introduced we were on vacation in Europe, so I stopped by several Swatch stores and they were either gone or they hadn't received their allotment.
This one was nearly new with box. I slapped my phone running the Kello app on it and it read +- a couple seconds, so had to go for it!
What I can say after 2 days: - runs about -2.5 seconds per day, better than most watches. Good thing since it can't be opened - plastic quality is better than expected in case/bezel, should wear well - crystal had only the faintest of abrasion but Polywatch took care of that in couple seconds - strap is rubberized outside, calf inside - the unidirectional rotor really zooms, it makes a bit of a rattle but kinda part of the charm for this piece
For well under $100 for a mechanical watch you can't go wrong, if just for the novelty of being first to be assembled without any hand involved.
BTW, for those that don't like plastics, Swatch announced a 2nd gen metal one last week. IIRC, it's was larger than 42 and it's $400. At that price you could get a Seiko or something with a Miyota movement.

I'm interested to see what the power reserve is like. IIRC it's supposed to be in the 90 hour range.
Is the movement winding/hacking?

It hacks and winds through the crown. One quirk is that you wind counter-clockwise, towards yourself.
I'm guessing that eliminated one gear between the crown gear and barrel edge. Not a problem, as soon as you hear the ratchet you just change directions.
Might be a while before I go a full 90 hours without wearing it ;-) But I'll let you know.

I've tried to test it but keep forgetting to check after 2 days! Not sure if it's a full 4 days but must be close to 3 minimum. I'v also noticed it runs fast off the wrist by the window. It's very accurate on, so I think it may not be as well temperature compensated as most.
